  • Wayne holds a B.A. Degree in Communications from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.  He started his professional career in the Property/Casualty Insurance Industry in 1979 in Helena Montana.  Through the next three decades, he held a variety of positions with several national and regional insurance carriers, but the bulk of his career was traveling and working with independent insurance agents in a marketing capacity.

    Wayne began working in the hearing health industry with Beltone in the fall of 2006 and has been working with Beltone Audiology & Hearing Aid Center since July, 2007.  His current position is the Director of Field Sales and his primary role is providing testing and service in locations away from a Beltone Audiology office location. In addition to his in-home and in-facility work, he also assists the company by filling-in at various offices to provide sales and service when the local fitter or patient care coordinator are out of the office due to illness or vacation needs.

  • Rachel Corscadden is our Hearing Care Practitioner in the Birmingham office. She is licensed as a Hearing Instrument Specialist and has been with Beltone Audiology since 2008. She has received the coveted Master Practitioner Award and 4 consecutive Pacesetter Awards from Beltone as well as being recognized at the 2010 National Convention for being among the top 24 practitioners across the US in True17 technology fittings . Rachel graduated from Auburn University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. She chose a career in audiology because she loves changing the lives of her patients by helping them hear their loved ones and giving them quality hearing with new technology and service. She lives in Homewood, AL with her husband Eric, son Graham, and 2 dogs. Rachel enjoys helping people in Birmingham get hearing aids.

  • Cheryl moved to the Birmingham area from Illinois several years ago. She started with Beltone in 2008 as a Patient Care Coordinator and loves being part of the process of helping people hear better. She is the proud mother of three wonderful sons, Bruce, Logan and Colton. Enjoys (loves) coming to work everyday and working one on one with people.

How an Appointment Works

  • What makes the patient experience at your practice unique?
    Our Patient Care Coordinator, Cheryl, has been with Beltone since 2008 and knows the patients quite well. She takes care of our patients like they are part of her family and continues to check on them. Hearing Care Practitioners Eric and Wayne go above and beyond by making special accommodations for patients who are not able to make it into our office. We also offer coffee and refreshments for patients and family members as they come in for appointments.
  • What is the in-office hearing aid trial process?
    After having their hearing tested using the best technology available, our Hearing Care Practitioner will make adjustments to test models according to their specific hearing loss levels and then have family members or friends provide simple questions at different ranges to help demonstrate what they could hear while wearing aids.
  • How do they get free batteries? (Do they participate in Beltone Blue)
    Patients are informed about letters they will receive from Beltone Blue that will extent offers to them and are encouraged to participate to claim free batteries.
  • How do trade-ins work?
    Patients with older technology are informed of new devices and how they may help, and are given opportunities to try out new Beltone aids when they trade in older aids which we can help give them a nice discount on.
  • Forms of payment?
    We accept all major credit cards as well as checks and cash. We also offer finance options through AllWell, Wells Fargo, and CareCredit.

Directions to the Clinic

We are located on Hwy 31/Montgomery Hwy in Vestavia. We are one block north of where Interstate 65 crosses over Hwy 31. The building is a brick triangle shape with Beltone in big white letters on the side of the building. Next door is the Issis Furniture Store and Gallery and the Texaco gas station. Across the street you can find Spin Cleaners and Arby’s. You will need to turn on Montreat Drive to access our parking lot which is behind the building.

From the North: Travel down Interstate 65 heading south out of Birmingham. Continue heading south towards Hoover and exit for Hwy 31/Montgomery Hwy, then turn left to head north on Hwy 31. After turning onto Hwy 31 shortly ahead the first street on the right is Montreat Drive. Turn right onto Montreat and immediately turn left into our parking lot behind the building.

From the South: From Pelham or Alabaster, use Hwy 31 heading north towards Hoover and Birmingham. Continue past Interstate 459 until Hwy 31 and Interstate 65 meet between Hoover and Vestavia Hills. Pass under Interstate 65 then immediately you should see us on the corner where Hwy 31 and Montreat Drive intersect. Turn right onto Montreat and then left immediately to arrive in the parking lot behind our office.

From the East: Use Interstate 20 if coming from Pell City or Moody and then merge onto 459 heading west. Or use Hwy 20 heading northwest if coming from Harpersville or Chelsea and turn onto 459 heading west. Then when Interstate 459 and 65 meet turn north onto 65 heading into Birmingham. Shortly after take the exit for Hwy 31/Montgomery Hwy and turn right heading northeast. The turn right onto Montreat which should be the first street on the righthand side and then left into the first parking lot which is behind our office.

From the West: Traveling on Interstate 459, head east until the exit for Hwy 31 near the Riverchase Galleria. Exit onto Hwy 31 and turn left to head north for a couple of miles until Interstate 65 crosses over Hwy 31. Shortly ahead the first street on the right is Montreat Drive. Turn right onto Montreat and immediately turn left into our parking lot behind the building.
